Regarding the new medication Zepbound…. I posted an update on my Facebook and Instagram pages as well. Zepbound is simply tirzepatide (mounjaro) with a new name, but Eli Lilly filed with the FDA for approval for weight loss and received it.
It probably won’t be available in pharmacies until after the first of the year. Or possibly longer since most doses of Mounjaro (tirzepatide) are still on back order and they can’t meet the demand as it is. And projected cost is $1100 a month. Most insurance plans do not cover weight loss medications so unfortunately it won’t be easily attainable for most people.
As long as Mounjaro is in short supply, the FDA will allow the compounded generic option.
If you qualify medically for Zepbound, I will write this prescription for you, but I cannot guarantee that any pharmacy has it or that any insurance company will pay for it yet. So keep that in mind when you agree to pay my service fee. My service fees are not refundable. Thanks!
For now, I am available to my patients 7 days a week, however I DO have to sleep, eat, exercise, go to church, spend time with my family, etc. (LOL!) So - I get a notification if you send me a message through here or if you Request a Medication from your dashboard. I try to respond to messages in between my other patients, and if I see an urgent need, I will try to respond quickly. If for some reason I don’t respond within 24 hours, please message me again! Or sooner if you need me ASAP. Please understand that I never want to ignore something that is important to YOU! If you are not feeling well, I definitely do not want you to wait!!! (I have a lot of patients who work night shifts, so messaging on here anytime is fine…..I will receive the notification in morning)
Messages can easily get buried on here when things get busy, but I NEVER want to miss your message! And it can get VERY busy....so forgive my typos, my talk-to text blunders, and if I seem abrupt I'm probably just moving fast :) Once a patient is established with my practice, I can offer telephone and video consultations as well as provide you my cell number for texting or calling in an emergency.

Lately, some compound pharmacies I recommend have improved their turnaround times for me (specifically for semaglutide, tirzepatide, and BioBoost Plus) to 7 business days! The ICB Complex is still taking a bit longer.
Regarding needing a Prior Authorization for a medication: So I’m sure you understand I can’t do a prior authorization on a medication until it is prescribed. So when you are ready, request the medication here. If it is medically appropriate for you, I’ll prescribe it, and when the pharmacy receives the prescription, they will attempt to run it through your insurance, and a prior authorization will be initiated by the pharmacy. Then I receive the part that I need to complete (as the prescriber) and we go from there. I may need recent lab results to complete it for you so try to get those or I can order for you.
Also, depending on the complexity of your prior authorization process, I may have to charge patients for my time. Since I’m not a provider for your insurance company, and you are using my services outside of your insurance, I have no easy access to all of the information I will need to gather to complete the PA. Some of the prior authorizations take well over an hour plus multiple faxes and phone calls on my part. Hopefully it won’t be difficult! But, I will be upfront with you. If it is a “simple” PA, that's great and there is no additional charge. But if it ends up being super complex, I will invoice you for my service fee once it gets to that point. I will be very transparent with you about that. Some insurance companies will rule on the PA within 72 hours, while others take 30 days.
For most of my patients, the Push Health “app” is the best way to use the features on here, but you can use a computer as well. You can download the app at any time. There is a new Android update so that should help my Android patients.
